The autumn school of the HSE Endowment Fund’s Donors Club has taken place at HSE’s Pokrovsky Bulvar campus. The event brought together alumni, as well as winners and nominees of the HSE Outstanding Alumni Award. The two-day programme was packed with lectures, workshops, and discussions on leadership, the marketing of the future, conflict management, and the use of artificial intelligence in business.

From Attachés to Speakers: HSE University–Nizhny Novgorod Students Take Part in World Youth Festival Assembly
In September 2025, Nizhny Novgorod became the centre of the international youth movement, hosting around 2,000 participants from 120 regions of Russia and abroad at the World Youth Festival Assembly. Students of HSE University–Nizhny Novgorod’s Foreign Languages and Intercultural Business Communication, Fundamental and Applied Linguistics, and International Bachelor’s in Business and Economics programmes were involved in the event in a variety of roles, from attachés and volunteers to performers and speakers.
HSE Takes Part in Finals of the 5th International Olympiad on Financial Security
The final stage of the 5th International Olympiad on Financial Security took place at the Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk from September 29 to October 3. The event brought together 600 students from schools and universities from 40 different countries. The Higher School of Economics was represented at all three levels of the Olympiad: competition, expert, and career guidance.

Achieving Financial Independence: Experts Discuss Development of BRICS National Currency Settlements
How can BRICS countries move away from the dollar in international settlements, and what can they do to advance this goal today? These questions were discussed by experts during a round table at HSE University. The event was organised by the Multilateral Strategic Projects Office together with the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs as part of HSE’s activities within the BRICS Network University and the Joint Basic Research Projects ‘International Academic Cooperation of HSE University.’

Early-Career Researchers Discuss Cooperation between Russia and Arab States
HSE University has hosted a conference entitled ‘Russia—The Arab World: Digital Future and Youth Cooperation,’ organised by the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs (WEIA). The meeting took place in the run-up to the first Russian–Arab summit, due to be held in Moscow on October 15, 2025.

Russian–Chinese Forum at HSE University–St Petersburg Provides Platform to Discuss Best Practices of AI Use
On September 23, the HSE University–St Petersburg Rope Shop Building hosted the Second Russian–Chinese Forum 'Culture of Education' and the annual meeting of the Russian–Chinese Association of Applied Research Institutes. More than 100 participants from leading non-government Chinese universities and representatives of 15 Russian universities discussed the integration of artificial intelligence in education and industry.

‘It Was Interesting to See How Our Chinese Colleagues Work’: HSE Researchers Take Part in Hefei Summer School
This summer, Diana Sukhoverkhova, Daria Mazur, and David Kagramanyan, research assistants at the MIEM HSE Laboratory for Computational Physics, spent five weeks in China. At the Future Scientist Exchange Program (FuSEP) summer school in Hefei, they worked in new fields of science together with their Chinese colleagues. HSE's promising scientists spoke to the HSE News Service about their intense and productive time in China.

‘A Bridge Connecting Russia and Africa’
The HSE Centre for African Studies has marked its fifth anniversary. It was established to support Russian companies and government bodies in their engagement with countries across the continent and, over the years, has proved its effectiveness and uniqueness. A ceremonial event to mark the centre’s anniversary was held at HSE’s Cultural Centre.
Students from HSE and Other Universities Carry Out Research Expedition at New Chersonesos
As part of the Rediscovering Russia student expedition programme, HSE University organised a research trip under the framework of the School for Young Humanities Scholars to the New Chersonesos museum and church complex in Sevastopol. The results of this expedition will form the basis for proposals on educational projects aimed at shaping young people’s historical memory of the role of Chersonesos, Crimea, and the Byzantine legacy in the history of Russian culture and statehood.

A Dream Comes True on the Shores of Baikal
This August, Syed Muhammad Salman Haider Shamsi, second-year student of the Master’s programme ‘International Business in the Asia-Pacific Region,’ participated in the Baikal Forum on the shore of Lake Baikal. In this article, Salman shares his experience of travelling, experiencing the nature of the Irkutsk region, and sharing knowledge with people from all over the world.
